  • 1 package Puff Pastry Homemade dough can be used
  • 1 large Egg For wash, can be omitted or substituted

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Gather ingredients and prepare your workspace.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onion, garlic, and bell pepper for about 5 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef, breaking it into bits, and cook until browned, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Stir in tomato paste and spices, simmer for 5 minutes, then season with salt and pepper.
  5. Let the filling cool for 10 minutes and roll out puff pastry to 1/8 inch thick.
  6. Cut circles of pastry, place filling on half, fold, and seal edges with a fork.
  7. Beat an egg for wash and brush the tops of empanadas.
  8. Bake on a lined baking sheet for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
