Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick spray or butter.
  2. Open one can of crescent roll dough and gently unroll it in the prepared baking dish, pressing the seams together to create an even base.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth and creamy, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the crescent roll dough base.
  5. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough over the cream cheese filling and press the seams together carefully.
  6. Melt some butter and use a pastry brush to coat the top layer of dough generously.
  7. Mix together the ground cinnamon and additional granulated sugar and sprinkle this mixture over the melted butter on top.
  8. Bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the casserole is set.
  9. Once baked, let the casserole cool for about 20 minutes before cutting into squares.
