  • 12 oz Low-moisture Mozzarella String Cheese
  • 1 cup All-purpose Flour or whole wheat
  • 1 cup Italian Breadcrumbs or panko
  • 2 large Eggs beaten
  • 2 tbsp Milk for the egg mixture
Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper
Cooking
  • 2 cups Oil for Frying vegetable oil, heated to 350°F
Garnish & Dipping
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley optional
  • 1 cup Marinara Sauce for dipping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Create your coating station with three bowls: one with all-purpose flour, one with beaten eggs and milk, and one with seasoned Italian breadcrumbs.
  2. Dredge each mozzarella stick in flour, dip in the egg mixture, then roll in breadcrumbs. Repeat for double coating.
  3. Lay breaded sticks on a parchment-lined tray and freeze for at least 2 hours.
Cooking Method
  1. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F for frying, or preheat oven to 400°F, or set air fryer to 390°F.
  2. Cook frozen mozzarella sticks until golden brown: 2-3 minutes for frying, 8-10 minutes for baking, or 5-6 minutes for air frying.
  3. Remove from heat and drain on paper towel. Garnish with parsley and serve with marinara sauce.
