  • 6 pieces Hoagie Rolls Firm bread can be used as a substitute.
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Consider provolone for a sharper taste.
  • 0.5 cups Grated Parmesan Cheese Use nutritional yeast for a vegan alternative.
  • 2 tbsp Butter Optional for toasting the rolls.
  • 0.25 cups Chopped Parsley Any fresh herbs can be used.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Place the frozen meatballs into the crockpot and evenly space them, then pour marinara sauce over and sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.
  2. Cover the crockpot and cook on LOW for 6–7 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours until the meatballs are tender.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and optionally spread butter on the insides of sliced hoagie rolls, then toast them for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Assemble the subs by placing 4-5 meatballs into each toasted hoagie roll and topping with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Broil the assembled subs in the oven for 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.
  6. Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
