- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper and butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar together on medium speed for about 5 minutes until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the toasted pecans that have been tossed in flour.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
