Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 2 teaspoons of instant yeast. Use a whisk to ensure even distribution of the salt and yeast.
  2. Gradually pour in 1 and ½ cups of warm water into the dry mixture. Mix until a sticky, shaggy dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel and let it rise at room temperature for 12-18 hours.
  4. Lightly flour a work surface and gently turn out the dough. Dust the top with flour, fold the edges towards the center to shape it into a round loaf, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F with a Dutch oven inside, allowing it to heat up for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Gently place the shaped dough inside the hot Dutch oven, cover it with the lid, and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the lid and continue baking for an additional 15-20 minutes until the crust is deep golden brown.
  8. Transfer the bread to a wire rack to cool for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
