  • 3 large Egg Whites Can use aquafaba as a vegan substitute.
  • 1/4 cup Pure Maple Syrup Brown sugar can work if you're in a pinch.
  • 1/2 cup Dried Cherries, chopped Swap with raisins or cranberries for a different kick.
  • 1/2 cup Dried Apricots, chopped Consider using dried figs or peaches for variety.
  • 1/2 cup Dried Mangos, chopped Replace it with any dried fruit you love.
  • 1/2 cup Dates, chopped Prunes or figs can easily stand in for dates.
  • 1/4 cup Shredded Coconut Omit if coconut isn’t your favorite.
  • 1/2 cup Sliced Almonds Walnuts or pecans are great substitutes.
  • 1/2 cup Salted Cashews, chopped Unsalted or other nuts work well too.
  • 2 tablespoons Pepitas Feel free to swap with sunflower seeds.
  • 1 tablespoon Chia Seeds Optional but recommended for extra nutrition.
  • 1 tablespoon Flax Seeds Optional but recommended for extra nutrition.
  • Dark or Milk Chocolate Optional for drizzling; skip for a healthier touch.
  • Sea Salt Optional; enhances flavor if adding chocolate.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and gather your ingredients and equipment.
  2. Chop dried fruits and combine with sliced almonds, cashews, coconut, pepitas, and optional seeds in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk together egg whites, maple syrup, and a pinch of salt until frothy.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the dried ingredients and mix until evenly coated.
  5. Form about 12 equal portions on the baking sheet, pressing each mound down slightly.
  6. Bake for 22-24 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers remain chewy.
  7. Remove from oven and cool for at least 10 minutes, optionally drizzling with chocolate and salt.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving.
