Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Cinnamon Twist Loaf
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of warm water, 1 tablespoon of dry active yeast, and 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Let the mixture sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of salt and 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour to the foamy yeast mixture. Mix on medium speed until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface, shape into a ball, cover with a tea towel and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  4. Roll the dough into a rectangle approximately 10"x12", brush with 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture.
  5. Starting from a longer side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice down the middle lengthwise and twist the halves together.
  6. Place the twisted loaf on a lined baking sheet, cover loosely with a tea towel, and let it rise for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  7. After rising, bake the loaf in the preheated oven for 23-25 minutes until golden-brown.
  8. Let it cool for 5-10 minutes, then prepare the glaze and drizzle it over the warm loaf.
