  • fine mesh strainer
  • Large pitcher

Method

Step‑by‑Step Instructions for Hibiscus Ginger Iced Tea
  1. Start by bringing 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a medium pot over high heat.
  2. Once boiling, immediately add 1 cup of dried hibiscus petals and 1-2 thinly sliced pieces of fresh ginger to the pot. Cover it with a lid and reduce the heat to low, allowing the concoction to steep for 15-20 minutes.
  3. After steeping, remove the pot from heat and gradually stir in honey or maple syrup to taste.
  4. Using a fine mesh strainer, pour the tea into a large pitcher to separate the liquid from the hibiscus petals and ginger slices.
  5. Let the strained tea cool down at room temperature for about 10 minutes, then transfer the pitcher to the refrigerator to chill, or pour it over ice immediately.
  6. Once chilled, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the refreshing Hibiscus Ginger Iced Tea over the top. Garnish with fresh lime wheels.
