Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the yeast mixture by combining warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Mix the dough by adding olive oil, all-purpose flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl covered with a towel for about 1 hour until doubled.
  5. Mix softened butter, minced garlic, and dried Italian herbs to create herb butter.
  6. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread herb butter, and then add mozzarella, parmesan, and parsley.
  7. Shape the loaf by rolling tightly and tucking the ends. Place seam-side down in a greased pan.
  8. Let the loaf rise, covered, for 30-45 minutes until puffed.
  9. Preheat the oven to 375°F and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and hollow-sounding.
  10. Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.
