Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, garlic powder, and salt.
  3. Gently fold in the shredded sharp cheddar cheese into the dry ingredients.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and softened unsalted butter until smooth.
  5. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and stir gently until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Melt some unsalted butter and mix in additional garlic powder and dried parsley to prepare the garlic butter topping.
