Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan over low heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter, then stir in 4 tablespoons of honey until well combined.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or cast iron skillet.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup of yellow cornmeal, 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of granulated sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1 teaspoon of salt.
  4. In a large bowl, mix together 2 cups of milk, 15 oz of creamed corn, 2/3 cup vegetable oil, and 2 large eggs until well combined.
  5. Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture, gently stirring until just blended.
  6. Transfer the batter into your prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  7. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, brushing with the honey butter mixture after 20 minutes.
  8. Once baked, cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
