Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and thaw 1 sheet of puff pastry.
  2. In a bowl, mix chopped spinach, drained artichokes, Parmesan, cream cheese, mayonnaise, and minced garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry to 1/8 inch thick and cut into two rectangles. Spread half of the filling on one rectangle.
  4. Cover the filling with the other half of the pastry and seal the edges. Slice into six strips.
  5. Twist each strip and shape into a swirl, tucking the ends underneath.
  6. Beat the egg with water for an egg wash and brush it on each swirl.
  7. Bake for about 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving.
