Ingredients
  

For the Pretzel Crust
  • 2 cups coarsely chopped pretzels Provides a salty crunch
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar Sweetness enhancer
  • 1/2 cup butter Melted, can substitute margarine
For the Cream Cheese Layer
  • 8 ounces cream cheese Creates a creamy layer
  • 1 cup granulated white sugar Sweetens the cream cheese layer
For the Jello and Fruit Layer
  • 6 ounces instant strawberry Jello Provides flavor and color
  • 2 cups boiling water Activates the Jello
  • 1 quart strawberries Hulled and sliced

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a food processor, crush the pretzels and mix with melted butter and sugar. Press into the bottom of a baking pan and bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool.
  3. Blend cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then fold in whipped topping. Spread over the cooled pretzel crust.
  4. Boil 2 cups of water. Mix in Jello powder until dissolved. Allow to cool slightly.
  5. Fold in fresh strawberries, then pour over the cream cheese layer. Chill for 2-4 hours to set.
  6. Slice and serve cold for a delicious treat.
