For the Spice Rub
  • 2 tablespoons Paprika Swap for smoked paprika or cayenne pepper for extra heat.
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder Use any favorite BBQ seasoning if spices are limited.
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup Barbecue Sauce Homemade options can be made with ketchup, vinegar, and spices.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C).
  2. Remove the thin membrane from the back of the spare ribs. Rinse the ribs under cold water and pat them dry.
  3. In a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and chili powder.
  4. Rub the spice mixture generously over both sides of the spare ribs.
  5. Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil.
  6. Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours, until the meat becomes tender.
  7. Once tender, carefully remove them from the oven and brush barbecue sauce over the top.
  8. Broil for 3 to 5 minutes until bubbly and slightly charred.
  9. Allow to rest for several minutes, then slice and serve.
