- Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Gather your baking sheet and aluminum foil.
- Remove the tough membrane from the back of the ribs. Pat the ribs dry and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. Stir until well-mixed.
- Drizzle olive oil over both sides of the ribs. Apply the spice rub generously, and let the ribs sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Wrap the seasoned ribs tightly in aluminum foil and place them on a baking sheet. Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours.
- After baking, unwrap the ribs and brush them with barbecue sauce.
