  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Chopped pecans or walnuts
Optional Topping
  • 1/4 cup Maple syrup or honey

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a muffin tin with liners.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, mix dark brown sugar, eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Fold in most of the chopped pecans, saving some for topping.
  6. Evenly fill muffin cups about three-quarters full and top with reserved pecans and syrup/honey if desired.
  7. Bake for 18-22 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
