Step-by-Step Instructions
- In a medium bowl, mix 1 cup of graham cracker crumbs with 4 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter until well combined. Press this mixture firmly into the bottom of your serving dish or trifle bowl.
- Take a chilled mixing bowl and add 1 cup of heavy whipping cream. Beat the cream on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form, about 2-3 minutes.
- In another bowl, blend 8 ounces of softened cream cheese with 1 cup of powdered sugar, ½ cup of key lime juice, 1 tablespoon of key lime zest, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture using a spatula until just combined.
- Start layering the trifle by spreading half of the cream filling over the prepared crust. Sprinkle reserved graham cracker crumbs over the filling and follow with the remaining cream filling.
- Cover the assembled trifle with plastic wrap or a lid, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes
For the best results, chill your tools before whipping cream and avoid overbeating to maintain texture.
